In 2020-2021, NPO Agro Solutions implemented a project in the village of Tsereteli, Marneuli Municipality, Kvemo Kartli region: "Creating a Value Chain and its Practical Implementation", funded by the United Nations Development Program, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, the Austrian Development and Cooperation Agency and the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia.
The aim of the project was to create demand for high value products and to encourage the production of brand products by small farms and small farmers.
Under the project, 15 beneficiaries were trained in agribusiness and finance, brand vegetable production, agro-technology, harvesting and storage technologies.
Pre-selected brand crops were planted under the supervision of an agronomist, in parallel with the construction of a modern type of greenhouse, where in the following years farmers continue to produce seedlings, both seasonal and off-season.
A meeting was organized between the project beneficiaries and large distribution networks, representatives of network supermarkets, representatives of restaurants and gastronomy to establish contacts between manufacturers and distributors.
During the project, Agro Solutions ensured the registration of a cooperative of 15 beneficiaries, which contributes to the sustainability of the project.
The NPO Agro Solutions team provides each stage of the project with management, risk assessment, planning of implemented activities and project monitoring. The project involved qualified agronomists and agribusiness consultants.
NPO Agro Solutions plans to maintain communication with the beneficiaries and participate in the development of their activities after the completion of the project.
