2019 was extinguished by a particularly high quality tangerine harvest in Georgia. Exports in September-January of the last year amounted 31 thousand tons, which is 5% more than the indicator in the same period in 2018.
High quality of products was directly proportionally stipulating the high market price. The wholesale price of tangerines ranged from 0.6 to 2.0 GEL. It should be noted that the high quality of this year's harvest was largely due to the large-scale measures taken by the State against the Asian tortoise beetle. Within the frames of the combat program, the preventive measures were taken for the plantations - areas were treated with thermal fog, which minimized the damage to the citrus crop by the pest.
