Employees of the Environmental Supervisory Department of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture as a result of the preventive measures taken throughout the country, detected 4121 environmental offences from January 1, 2020 to June 30. 224 of them involves the signs of criminal offences.
Majority from these facts are related to the pollution of environment with waste. During 6 months the employees of the Department revealed 1002 violations of the Code of Waste Management. Also, in the same period 942 facts of violation of the Law on Forest, 619 cases of illegal logging of trees and transportation, 206 violations of sawmill Technical Regulations, 290 facts of violations of fishing and hunting rules, 241 violations of entrails legislation, 561 violations of atmospheric air legislation, 75 violations of water legislation and 59 violations of land legislation were revealed. In the mentioned period 126 facts of other environmental offenses were revealed.
The employees of the Department detected 1047 environmental violations within operating area the Adjara and Guria Regional Divisions. 824 facts were revealed in Kakheti, 813 within the operating area of the Western Regional Division, 376 in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 340 within the operational area of the Eastern Division, 239 in Kvemo Kartli, 218 in Samtskhe-Javakheti. In the Black Sea, 16 environmental violations were detected by the Conventional Division for the Protection of the Black Sea.
As for the capital city, the employees of the Environmental Supervisory Department had revealed 248 environmental offenses. 10 of them includes signs of criminal offenses.
